Attachment and Somatics is a live, in-depth professional training program designed specifically for helping professionals and caring individuals to deepen their understanding of attachment and somatics, and build the skills necessary for their work with clients who have a history of relational ruptures.

This unique program provides a solid foundation to support your clients through stressful periods of their lives using the simple and often overlooked wisdom inherent in each of us – the wisdom of the body.

How would your practice change if you could deepen your understanding of relational dynamics?

The foundations of human functioning are dependent on building secure connections and managing ruptures with repairs that address core patterns in our lived history. We will expose common blindspots, projections, and reenactments that form core patterns in relationships.

Are you tired of “quick fix” solutions that do not last or get to the core of your clients problems?

We will dive deep into the nature of human relating, so that you and your practice is transformed.

In a world that needs your expertise, there’s never been a better time to become skilled in Somatic Attachment techniques. By moving beyond traditional approaches to incorporating attachment theory, to using somatic based attachment practices, you create a safer and more connected transformational experience for your clients. As attachment theory becomes more widely known and accepted, people are seeking specialists who can guide them in healing attachment wounds, repairing ruptures, and restoring secure relationships.

As coaches, therapists, and facilitators, how can we best support our clients in forming secure attachments and deep connections? If you are passionate about helping your clients cultivate inner strength and resilience so that they can meet whatever life brings their way, Attachment and Somatics is for you.

"Our ability to connect, repair, and nurture secure attachment can transform how we experience relationships and ourselves. Integrating somatic practices with attachment theory allows us to heal deeply rooted attachment wounds and fosters resilience and connection

Diane Pool Heller

Training Overview

Attachment and Somatics is a 30-hour certificate training which includes: 10 live training classes (three hours each) over 12-weeks (Monday’s from 11-2pm ET), 8 self-study modules of training materials, and private virtual community space for additional learning and support.

LESSON 1
Early Pioneers of Attachment

This lesson covers the work of early attachment theorists like John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth. Their research highlighted the crucial connection between caregivers and infants, laying the foundation for understanding how these early relationships impact emotional and psychological development.

LESSON 2
Somatic Movement Cycles

Explore the concept of somatic movement cycles, essential for the body's natural tension release and self-regulation. Participants will learn how rhythmic, intuitive movements can restore balance, enhance body awareness, and support emotional resilience.

LESSON 3
Boundaries: Differentiation & Clarity

This lesson focuses on the importance of boundaries in personal development and relationships. It emphasizes differentiation—understanding and maintaining the distinction between oneself and others. Learn to assert your needs and maintain personal integrity in personal and professional interactions.

LESSON 4
Ruptures & Barriers Creating Defenses

Investigate the impact of emotional ruptures and the formation of defensive barriers. This lesson explores how these experiences create lasting imprints and influence behavioral patterns, providing strategies to identify and transform these responses for healthier relationships.

LESSON 5
Shadow Influences

Analyze the shadow influences that shape relational dynamics, including hierarchy, authority, power, and control. This lesson helps participants understand how these factors manifest in relationships and provides methods to bring awareness and balance to these dynamics.

LESSON 6
Tracking Family Reenactments

Explore recurring patterns and roles within family systems, known as family reenactments. Understand how these dynamics are repeated in current relationships and gain tools to track, analyze, and transform these patterns for personal and relational growth.

LESSON 7
The Dance of Intimacy

Examine the interplay of closeness and distance in intimate relationships. Learn techniques to navigate the dynamics of vulnerability and connection, enhancing your capacity for deep, supportive, and mutually satisfying relationships.

LESSON 8
Repair & Restoration: Secure Relations Heal Our World

Understand the potential of healing, creating secure relationships. This lesson focuses on how we can repair ruptures in relationships, contributing to individual well-being and societal health. Learn practical steps to cultivate Compassion, Forgiveness, Tolerance with Boundaries, and Interpersonal Effectiveness sustaining secure relationships.

"The attachment system is an integral part of our human nature, influencing our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions throughout our lives. Secure attachment provides a safe haven and a secure base from which individuals can explore the world and develop a sense of self. The quality of early relationships serves as a template for future relationships, influencing our expectations and patterns of relating to others. Secure attachment fosters the development of emotional regulation skills, allowing individuals to cope with stress and regulate their emotions effectively

John Bowlby

In such a short space of time I felt seen, heard and believed in a way that cannot be forced or faked. She is a gifted mentor with a holistic approach to supporting people as entire beings and she does this all with a breath of kind-hearted humour.

  • Kate offered me a safe space in which to “rediscover all aspects of myself” and explore the various parts of my “inner family that were either too dominant and or not being acknowledged. She has been one of the most influential and authentic “guides” I have had the privilege of working with…and I have worked with many profound masters for more than 30 years
    Richard Lunber

"Attachment relationships are fundamental to our development and well-being. By observing and working with the body, we can uncover the somatic narratives that hold the imprints of our early attachment experiences. This awareness allows us to address and heal these patterns, fostering secure attachments and healthier relationships.
Pat Ogden, Founder of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
