About Attachment & Somatics

Co-created and taught by Will Rezin (SEP) and Kate Appleton (LPC, SEP). Kate works closely with Dr. Stephen Porges on sound-based nervous system interventions, co-authored the Combined Delivery Guidelines for the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Somatic Experiencing, and led a research initiative in South Africa supporting Dr. Porges’ work on the RRP sound program. Her expertise spans addiction recovery, mental health, trauma, learning differences, autism, and sensory processing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take Attachment & Somatics without Trauma & Somatics?
Yes. Prior somatic training (SE, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, IFS, NARM, NeuroAffective Touch, Compassionate Inquiry, TRE, or similar) is recommended but not required. Licensed professionals (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, PhD) and certified coaches with trauma training are welcome to enroll directly. Attachment & Somatics assumes some familiarity with nervous system regulation and somatic tracking. If you’re unsure whether your background is sufficient, email us and we’ll help you determine the best starting point.
If you’re new to somatic work, we recommend starting with Trauma & Somatics. If you already have training in SE, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi, IFS, NARM, Compassionate Inquiry, or similar modalities, you can go directly to Attachment & Somatics.
Yes. We recommend completing Trauma & Somatics first (January 2026), then Attachment & Somatics (August 2026). This sequence allows time for integration and ensures you have foundational skills before advancing to relational work.
Both programs include 10 live classes (3 hours each), 6 self-paced learning modules, daily somatic practice audios, weekly homework and integration, lifetime access to all materials, certificate of completion, private community access, and a personal practice journal.
These are certificate programs documenting professional development hours. They do not replace foundational training in therapy, coaching, or bodywork. Practice within your existing scope and credentials.
